Happy New Year 2017! | Howe International Friendship League Team wishes you the best for the year 2017

Howe International Friendship League team would like to wish you a very Happy New Year 2017!

We look back at 2016 realizing it has been a very fruitful year and we would like to thank you all for having followed and supported us until now. Last year we held our first event, and we started big, with the Pyongyang International Friendship Ice Hockey Exhibition (PIFIHE), held in March 2016, when we brought a full ice hockey team of international expats to play against the North Korea men’s national team. We shared unforgettable moments with them and with our hosts, namely the DPRK men’s national ice hockey team, the officials of DPRK Ministry of Sports and the Korea International Youth & Children’s Travel Company staff.

It was also the opportunity to implement our program for persons with intellectual disabilities. We had the privilege to conduct a series of workshops with children from the Korean Rehabilitation Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities in coordination with DPRK state organizations. We could initiate discussions with local officials with respect to potential areas of cooperation aimed at benefiting individuals with intellectual disabilities and discuss modalities for long-term collaboration (learn more).

We now have three events in the tubes including the second edition of our first event in North Korea, the Pyongyang Ice Hockey League (PIHL) 2017 — to be held from 7 to 15 March 2017. Later this year, in June, we will bring a group to play against a select group of youth from Puerto Viejo in the heart of Costa Rica for the Costa Rica Flag Football Tournament 2017. Finally the Maasaï Football Classic will see our participants play, exchange and learn with the local Maasaï community and experience their “warrior training” in Maasaï Mara, Kenya in September.

We are proud we have been able to put together such a busy agenda for the year 2017 and will do our best to make it happen as successfully as we started!
